Galvin wins historic primary, will face Young in November

We are elated that our client, independent Alyse Galvin, won the Democratic primary in Alaska’s at-large Congressional District on August 22nd. Galvin, a first-time candidate, is now headed to the general election where she will face off against incumbent Republican Don Young, who has held the seat for 45 years.

Alyse, a lifelong education advocate, has spent decades working to improve her community. As the leader of Great Alaska Schools, a grassroots effort she helped launch and grow from 40 to 4,000 people statewide, she organized folks all across Alaska and lobbied legislators in Juneau and DC. Now, she wants to find solutions to the issues important to all Alaskans. We helped tell Alyse’s powerful story to the voters through digital media and videos leading up to the primary and integrated our strategy with her strong get out the vote program.

Hamburger Gibson Creative produced a series of videos throughout the summer to introduce Alyse to the voters—telling her stories about growing up in Alaska, dealing with a broken healthcare system, and becoming an advocate for Alaskans. The videos resonated with Alaskans and we rounded out the campaign by driving home a simple message: Alyse stepped up and ran not to bring Washington values to Alaska; but to bring Alaska’s needs and Alaska’s values to Washington.
